Jefferson Cowie, Cornell University, wrote a critical look at the business and labor representatives History of the RCA. In this work, Cowie traces of corporate communications giant and career of the late 20s in Camden, New Jersey to Bloomington, Indiana, Memphis, Tennessee, in Juarez, Mexico.
Combining interviews with displaced workers from statistical data, the author explains, to meet as effectively reproduction of the corporate strategy consistent with the migrations of the society in search of low wages and employee.
Particularly poignant is the detailed examination Cowie, of Bloomington, Indiana factory.Both managers and frontline workers have a voice in the narrative of the traumatic experience of the plant's closure and its impact on the community.
This important work must be read by members of a community trying to interact with the problems of NAFTA, to cope with plant closings, and social responsibility. Cowie was an important book, and easier to read.
